Alternative rockers Bayside [ tickets ] have inked dates for a headlining tour behind their first studio effort as a full band since the tragic death of the band's original drummer in 2005.

The group, with new drummer Christopher J. Guglielmo replacing the late John "Beatz" Halloran, will kick off an 18-city trek Feb. 21 in Charlotte, NC, and the new album, "The Walking Wounded," is scheduled to hit stores Feb. 6.

Halloran was killed in a late-2005 car crash that also seriously injured bassist Nick Ghanbarian. On tour at the time of the accident, vocalist/guitarist Anthony Raneri and guitarist Jack O'Shea decided to honor their friends by pressing on as a duo and performing acoustically. The band's remaining members released a 10-song EP and live DVD, both entitled "Acoustic," last February.

The band holed up in General Studios on Long Island for the last two months of 2006, working with producers Kenny Gioia and Shep Goodman (Lee Ann Womack, Hall & Oates) on the new album, according to a press release. "The Walking Wounded" follows the band's self-titled 2005 full-length, and its 2004 debut, "Sirens and Condolences."

"We had a lot more time to make this record and a little more money," Raneri said in a press release. "We wrote most of the last record on the road, which really wasn't as inspiring as it sounds. This time around, however, we took some time to sit at home and write the record that we wanted to write."

"We're recording in bigger studios this time as well, which definitely makes for bigger sounds. Also, this being the second time around with Shep and Kenny producing, everyone knows everyone ... everyone is comfortable. I know what they're going to say before they say it and vice versa."
