The Decemberists assemble spring trek

Eclectic alt-rockers The Decemberists have mapped out a spring tour that kicks off March 21 with two nights at Jersey City, NJ's Loews Theater.
The itinerary also includes two nights at Chicago's Riviera Theatre, Boston's Avalon and San Francisco's Warfield Theater. My Brightest Diamond opens each show except April 4-6. Details are posted below.
The Decemberists' latest album, "The Crane Wife," is based on a Japanese folk tale that's been handed down in countless variations and translations through the centuries. Songwriter and frontman Colin Meloy discovered it in a children's section of a local bookstore. The band--which also includes multi-instrumentalist Chris Funk, keyboardist Jenny Conlee, bassist Nate Query and drummer John Moen--has become known for its experimentation, pulling from styles as far flung as classic pop, klezmer, Irish jigs and prog rock.
The video for The Decemberists' latest single, "O Valencia" recently debuted on MTV2's "Subterranean."
