Gwen Stefani finalizes 'Sweet Escape' plan
The itinerary has been finalized for Gwen Stefani 's 40-date outing, which kicks off April 21 in Las Vegas and takes the singer and her Harajuku Girls across the US and Canada through June.
Platinum-selling singer Akon , who produced and appears on Stefani's latest single, "The Sweet Escape," is on the bill along with British MC Lady Sovereign . Dates are listed below.
Stefani's website previously stated that the singer would also announce shows in Central America, South America, Australia, Asia and Europe this year.
"The Sweet Escape" tour supports Stefani's sophomore solo album of the same name, which was released last month and has so far spawned the hit song "Wind It Up." The album's first two singles are streaming at Stefani's MySpace page, and the video for "The Sweet Escape" is streaming at her website.
In conjunction with the new record, Stefani also released her first solo DVD, "Harajuku Lovers Live," which captures concert footage from her most recent tour. A behind-the-scenes documentary on how the show came together is included.
The new material follows Stefani's quadruple-platinum selling 2004 solo album, "Love. Angel. Music. Baby." Since then, she has also become a mother and continued to build her successful clothing line, L.A.M.B.
In related news, a VH1 special dubbed "Box Set: Gwen Stefani" will premiere on the network tomorrow (1/24) night. The program is a retrospective that includes a compilation of the artist's music videos, performances and exclusive interview clips, according to her website.
