Keith Urban reveals cities for summer tour
Country star Keith Urban will launch the North American leg of his Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy World Tour June 8 in Phoenix, AZ. From there, he'll visit 33 cities for 36 concerts in the US and Canada.
The dates for the outing were not released at press time, but are expected to be announced on Urban's website shortly. Cities and venues are listed below.
Dates for an April run of shows in the UK and Germany are currently posted at the singer's website. Confirmation is expected soon for a May outing in Australia, during which Urban will play his first arena shows in his native land.
Tickets for North American gigs go on sale at the usual outlets Feb. 3, but members of Urban's online community will have access beginning Jan. 29. Retail giant Target and country-radio listener clubs will also offer advance ticket access.
"I'm looking forward to getting back on the road, to reconnecting with everyone and to doing what it is that I love to do," Urban said in a statement. "To finally be able to present the songs from 'Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing' live, is something that I've been looking forward to doing since recording the album."
"Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing," Urban's fourth studio album, was released in November, but the entertainer put off touring and promotional appearances to check himself into rehab for alcohol addiction.
Despite the delay, the album went to No. 1 on Billboard's Country Album Chart and scored hit singles "Stupid Boy" and "Once in a Lifetime," which is up for a Grammy award.
Earlier this week, Urban posted a video on his website thanking fans for their support and praising his wife, Nicole Kidman, for standing by him during his three-month stay at the Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs, CA.
The singer said when he checked himself into the facility in mid-October, he expected to be there for 30 days, but as he learned more about himself in treatment, he thought it best to extend his stay.
