The Fray adds dates through April

Pop-rock band The Fray is still busy touring behind its 2005 debut, "How to Save a Life," and has expanded its North American itinerary through the end of April.

The group is currently finishing a run of shows on the US college circuit before jetting across the Pond for a UK jaunt from mid-February to early March. A few gigs in Canada and a two-night opening slot supporting Dave Matthews Band in Las Vegas March 23-24 follow. The current schedule has the group wrapping things up on the East Coast in late April.

Details for the North American shows are listed below, while international dates can be found at The Fray's website.

Since "How to Save a Life" surfaced, The Fray has gone from playing small clubs, to opening slots, to headlining larger venues--including a hometown gig at the Denver area's Red Rocks Amphitheatre, according to the band's website. The album has been certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and has become the best-selling digital record since SoundScan began tracking digital albums, according to a statement.

The singles "Over My Head (Cable Car)" and "How to Save a Life" are nominated for Grammy awards. Last year, The Fray's music was featured on the television shows "Scrubs," "Grey's Anatomy," "What About Brian," "NCIS," "One Tree Hill" and "Bones."

Several songs from the album are streaming at The Fray's MySpace page.

The band released a special edition of "How to Save a Life" in September including the original album plus a bonus DVD containing an on-the-road documentary, the "Over My Head (Cable Car)" video and the "making of" story behind the video.

The Fray intends to get back in the studio this year to work on its sophomore album.
