The Pogues to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in New York
The Pogues will return to the US in March for a brief headlining tour that includes a St. Patrick's Day show in New York City.
The Irish rockers, who last March played their first US shows in years, will kick off their outing March 5 in Chicago, the first of back-to-back shows. The seven-date tour will culminate with the St. Patty's Day show in New York.
The Pogues reunited in 2004, including original lead singer Shane MacGowan, who left the band in the mid-'90s. The group has been playing shows regularly in the UK and Ireland since getting back together.
Although The Pogues haven't released an album of original music since 1996's "Pogue Mahone," the band has remained busy on the reissue front. Last September, the group, in association with Rhino Records, released re-mastered and expanded versions of its first five studio albums: "Red Roses For Me" (1984), "Rum, Sodomy & The Lash" (1985), "If I Should Fall From Grace With God" (1988), "Peace And Love" (1989) and "Hell's Ditch" (1990).
Each CD contains up to seven additional songs over the original releases, as well as completely new liner-note booklets.
