Briefly: Jennifer Lopez, Coldplay, Yoko Ono, Larry Brown
Actress-turned-pop-music-star Jennifer Lopez has announced a March 27 release date for "Como Ama Una Mujer," her first Spanish-language album.
Lopez's website features the music video for "Que Hiciste," the set's first single. The track itself is available from the iTunes Music Store for fans who pre-order the forthcoming album.
In related news, Lopez and husband Marc Anthony are scheduled to perform Saturday (2/3) in South Beach, FL, at "Super XLI: The Party," an invitation-only, pre-Super Bowl event that will also feature DJ AM, according to a press release.
Coldplay will offer up a new box set titled "The Singles 1999-2006" on March 26. The collection houses 7"-vinyl versions of each of the 14 singles Coldplay has issued, according to the group's website.
Yoko Ono , wife of slain Beatle John Lennon , will release her latest album, "Yes, I'm a Witch," Tuesday (2/6), and will promote the set with a Feb. 10 in-store appearance at Borders Penn Plaza in New York City. While there, she'll sign copies of the new album, which features collaborations with The Flaming Lips, Cat Power, Antony, Spiritualized, Peaches, Hank Shocklee, The Apples in Stereo, The Sleepy Jackson, Le Tigre and others, according to a press release.
Alejandro Escovedo, Robert Earl Keen, T-Model Ford, Vic Chesnutt, North Mississippi AllStars and Greg Brown are among the artists whose work will appear on the forthcoming Bloodshot Records release "Just One More, A Musical Tribute to Larry Brown : 19 Songs Celebrating A Great American Writer." Some songs on the album--which is scheduled for release May 22--"were written for the project, songs for Larry and about his characters, such as Caroline Herring's 'Song for Fay,' exploring the title character of 'Fay,' a novel published in 2000," according to a press release.
The album closes with a song performed by the late Brown, who died of a heart attack in 2004
