Martina McBride adds gigs to US trek
Martina McBride has added even more shows to a lengthy tour that kicks off April 12 in Kansas City, MO, and stops in cities all over the US through July.
Breakout acts Little Big Town and Rodney Atkins will open on most dates, with Diamond Rio joining McBride for three shows June 22-24. McBride's itinerary, which includes a few festivals and fairs separate from the tour, is listed below.
The country star is supporting her self-produced ninth album, "Waking Up Laughing," which is set for an April 3 release. The record's debut single, "Anyway," marks McBride's first songwriting credit and is her fastest-rising single ever, according to a press release.
A four-time Country Music Association Vocalist of the Year, McBride is currently nominated for a Grammy in the Best Female Vocal Performance category for her version of "I Still Miss Someone." That song is off of the singer's platinum-selling 2005 album, "Timeless," which is a collection of classic country standards.
McBride has been a steady presence on the country charts since 1993 and has sold more than 16 million albums in her career, according to her website.
