Norah Jones dominates US album chart

Norah Jones ' recently released third solo album is also her third No. 1 album: "Not Too Late" moved 405,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to secure the top slot on The Billboard 200 chart with plenty of room to spare.

Claiming the No. 2 position is "American Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee , whose self-titled debut sold 116,000 copies during its first week out, according to Billboard. Billboard compiles its album chart using Nielsen SoundScan retail reports.

With 77,000 copies sold, Daughtry --a group headed by "American Idol" finalist Chris Daughtry--holds steady in the No. 3 slot with its self-titled debut. Celtic Woman 's "A New Journey" sold 71,000 copies to debut at No. 4, while Pretty Ricky 's "Late Night Special" moved 62,000 copies to round out the Top 5.

The remainder of the Top 10 is filled out by Akon's "Konvicted," The Shins' "Wincing the Night Away," Robin Thicke's "The Evolution of Robin Thicke" and the "2007 Grammy Nominees" compilation, according to Billboard.
