Venues Named For Dr. Dre’s “Up In Smoke” Tour
update: Venues have been confirmed for all but three of the 25 cities that will be visited by the Dr. Dre -fronted “Up In Smoke” tour, which will also feature Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube , Eminem , and Warren G. The tour opens on June 15 near San Diego, and will run for seven weeks.
The tour--originally billed as the “Hip Hop 2000” tour--marks Dr. Dre’s first national tour as a solo artist.
The outing isn't being billed as an N.W.A. reunion tour. However, Dre, Ice Cube and MC Ren --members of the influential gangsta rap group--are expected to perform some N.W.A. songs together with Snoop Dogg occupying the slot of founding member Easy-E, who died of AIDS in 1995.
