Type O Negative set to be 'Dead Again' on road

Goth rockers Type O Negative have revealed an initial round of dates for spring as the band begins to lay down roadwork behind its new studio album, "Dead Again," due in stores March 13.

The New Yorkers will follow the album's release with a round of shows in nightclubs and small theaters, kicking off March 28 in Providence, RI. Details are included below.

The band will get opening support from heavy metal act Brand New Sin on all of its upcoming dates, with black metal's Celtic Frost adding additional support for a pair of shows at the back end of the trek.

"Dead Again" is Type O Negative's first studio album since 2003's "Life is Killing Me Again," which itself emerged after a four-year gap following 1999's "World Coming Down."

"Spacing the records far apart is how you achieve diverse results," keyboardist Josh Silver explained of the band's "slow but steady" recording philosophy in a press statement. "When you're forced to write an album every year or eight months, you haven't changed--you're still the same a--hole you were eight months ago. We've been different a--holes every record. We've retained our identity through all the changes."

"All of my music is based on what is going on in my life at the time and exaggerating it," vocalist Peter Steele said in the statement. "If I didn't exaggerate it, I'd be writing about what I had for dinner last night."
