Regina Spektor brings 'Hope' back to tour circuit
Singer/songwriter Regina Spektor , who recently has garnered a greatly increased following after her songs were featured in a pair of hit television dramas, will return to the road later this spring for a brief headlining tour.
The Russian-born, New York-raised singer's itinerary also features a pair of festival dates in addition to her headlining work. Spektor will make an April 28 appearance at the Coachella music festival in Indio, CA, as well as a June 17 slot at the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, TN. Her complete US schedule is listed below.
Released last June, "Begin to Hope" follows 2004's "Soviet Kitsch." The new collection, which is Spektor's first release for Sire Records, features the cuts "On the Radio" and "Fidelity," the latter of which is streaming at Spektor's MySpace page.
Spektor, who was born in Russia in 1980 and spent the first nine years of her life in that country, is a classically trained pianist. She rose out of New York City's anti-folk scene at the beginning of the millennium, where she got her start playing cafes and selling her own self-produced CDs.
The public's awareness of Spektor has grown over the past couple of years thanks in part to the use of her music in episodes of the television dramas "CSI: NY" and "Grey's Anatomy."
