Jared Leto, frontman for 30 Seconds to Mars , suffered a broken nose and other injuries when he ran into the audience during a concert in Texas last Thursday (3/1).

According to an MTV report, Leto--whose band was performing in El Paso as part of the Taste of Chaos tour--entered the crowd while performing "The Kill" and was rushed by thousands of fans who "overpowered security." In addition to breaking his nose, the singer also sustained "a foot injury and superficial injuries to his face and body."

Leto reportedly finished the show before heading to a local hospital for treatment.

In related news, 30 Seconds to Mars announced Friday (3/2) that bassist Matt Wachter had left the band to "spend more time with his family at home."

"We love and support him completely and accept his decision with respect and understanding," the group said via a statement posted at its website. "This is not an end, it is a new beginning. ... There are only positive feelings between us all and we will always remember the wonderful contributions he has made to this project."
