Charlie Daniels lines up 2007 Volunteer Jam

Legendary country rocker Charlie Daniels will launch his annual Volunteer Jam tour in late April, with The Marshall Tucker Band and The Outlaws coming along for the ride.
The trek starts April 28 in Valdosta, GA, and hits cities all across the US through July. The Charlie Daniels Band also has a slew of other shows, including a run of fairs, scheduled into October. The itinerary is listed below, and specifics about which dates are Volunteer Jam concerts can be found at Daniels' website.
The Volunteer Jam started in 1974 when Daniels wanted to record "Fire on the Mountain" in front of a live audience. The performer's friends joined in for a jam at that Nashville concert and the rest is history.
Daniels--whose music covers everything from rock to country to bluegrass, blues and gospel--has sold more than 18 million albums in his 40-plus-year career, according to a press release. He started in the '50s with the Misty Mountain Boys and formed The Charlie Daniels Band in 1970. His 1979 hit, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," topped the country and pop charts, and scored a Grammy for Best Country Vocal.
Daniels also has a Dove award on his mantle and was honored with the Academy of Country Music's Pioneer Award.
The 69-year-old singer is also known for his fierce patriotism, recording songs and full albums with patriotic themes and performing for US troops overseas. Last year, Daniels traversed the war zone, delivering hundreds of musical instruments, CDs, DVDs and other portable entertainment items to US military personnel, according to The American Legion Magazine.
