Rolling Stones prepare for another 'Bang' in Europe
Still not ready to bring their "A Bigger Bang" tour to a close, even after nearly a year and a half of touring, The Rolling Stones have announced a new European leg for this summer.
Some of the shows on the newly revealed 27-date trek are make-up dates for concerts that were canceled last summer after Keith Richards fell out of a tree and suffered a head injury in Fiji.
The outing will kick off June 5 in Werchter, Belgium, and includes a June 10 headlining slot at the annual Isle of Wight in the UK, the group's first festival appearance in that country since its top billing at the 1976 Knebworth festival. The band's complete European schedule is included below.
Organizers are still working out the details of ticket allotments for the tour. Pre-sales are currently available to the band's fan-club members through its official website, which also includes information on public on-sale dates for all the upcoming shows.
The Stones have been touring behind their latest studio album, "A Bigger Bang," since shortly before the album's release during the summer of 2005.
The band racked up the biggest numbers of any touring act last year, with a North American gross of $138.5 million, according to concert-industry magazine Pollstar. The group earned that total by selling just over 1 million tickets, which bore an average price of $136.63.
