Gov't Mule lines up spring, summer tours
The "Million Miles" tour will kick off April 13 at the two-day Wanee Festival in Live Oak, FL, with Gov't Mule playing both of the festival's dates. The fest's lineup also includes The Allman Brothers Band (which features Gov't Mule guitarist Warren Haynes) and Robert Randolph & The Family Band.
After completing the initial leg of its itinerary, Gov't Mule will launch into a summer tour starting in early June, kicking off June 1 with an appearance during all three days of the Mountain Jam in Hunter, NY, as previously reported. The group's North American itinerary is included below.
The group will also play a number of European shows this summer, details for which can be found at its website.
Gov't Mule's new album was co-produced by Haynes and Gordie Johnson, former member of Canadian blues-rock outfit Big Sugar. The challenge, as usual for Gov't Mule, was in capturing the dynamics of its live act in a studio environment.
"We took the interplay that happens on stage and utilized it to create something magical in the studio," Haynes said in a press release. "Even within the structures of some of the more straight-ahead rock songs, this band plays with a jazz sensibility."
