Morissette To Sell 100,000 Shares Of MP3.Com

Alanis Morissette has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission her intention to sell 100,000 shares of her MP3.com stock.

The shares make up about a third of her total MP3.com holdings, which she acquired in April 1999 for 33 cents per share, according to Reuters. MP3.com's stock closed on Monday (5/15) at just under $13 a share.

According to Billboard, MP3.com has a "consulting relationship" with Morissette's management company. The online music site sponsored an Alanis Morissette-Tori Amos tour last summer.

On April 28, as defendant in a lawsuit filed by the Recording Industry Association of America, MP3.com was judged liable for copyright violations.
