Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi team up on tour

The husband and wife team of guitarist Derek Trucks and singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi will head out on the road this spring to play their first shows ever side-by-side on the same concert stage.
The pair, married since 2001, have appeared on each other's albums, but never toured together. Dubbed the "Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival," the outing will hit 11 venues in June, kicking off June 7 in Dallas. Details are included below.
Backing Trucks and Tedeschi onstage will be saxophonist Ron Holloway from Tedeschi's touring band, as well as the entire Derek Trucks Band (bassist Todd Smaille, percussionist Yonrico Scott, keyboardist Kofi Burbridge, vocalist Mike Mattison and percussionist Count M'butu). The tour will also mark the performing debut of Trucks' younger brother, 18-year-old Duane Trucks, on second drum kit.
Trucks--currently on the road playing lead guitar for The Allman Brothers Band, one of his two other full-times gigs--will launch a tour with the Derek Trucks Band next month, and head out with his band again in June immediately after finishing the tour with his wife.
Tedeschi's most recent studio album was 2005's "Hope and Desire," for which she received a Grammy nomination in the Best Contemporary Blues Album category.
The Derek Trucks Band released its sixth album, "Songlines," in 2006.
