Honda Civic Tour delayed until May
Due to "personal issues," Honda Civic Tour headliners Fall Out Boy have delayed the start of the outing, which was due to launch April 18 in Charlotte, NC.
The tour--which also features Blink-182 spin-off (+44), The Academy Is ..., Paul Wall and Cobra Starship--will now kick off May 11 in Denver. The postponed shows will be added to the end of the trek, and tickets for the original performances will be honored. Dates, which originally wrapped in mid-June with a two-show finale in Fall Out Boy's hometown of Chicago, are now set to end June 2 at, appropriately enough, The Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. Details are listed below.
All stops except the Sacramento-area performance in Marysville, CA, have been rescheduled. Ticket holders for the Marysville gig, which was set for May 1, can either get a refund at the point of purchase or trade their tickets for the June 30 Concord, CA, date.
Without getting into detail, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz apologized for the postponement in a statement.
"Unfortunately, because of some personal issues, we had to delay the tour a few weeks. We want to put on the best possible show we can and know that this extra couple of weeks will give us the time to put ourselves in the right place to put on the best show we can," Wentz explained. "Again we apologize. Our fans really mean the world to us and I promise the wait will be well worth it."
Fall Out Boy's latest album, "Infinity on High," hit stores in February and debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart. It has so far spawned the hit song "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race," and the new single, "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs," is currently taking off at radio and MTV.
Organizers of the Honda Civic Tour tout the trek as a combination of hot acts, moderate ticket prices and environmental consciousness. The outing will be used to promote the Honda Civic Hybrid--one of which has been pimped out by the members of Fall Out Boy and will be displayed on tour. A lucky concert-goer who enters a drawing will win the car.
