Tool fixing to launch rescheduled trek
The rescheduled Tool outing continues to take shape as still more dates surface on the prog-rockers' itinerary.
The tour now launches with back-to-back shows April 27-28 in Las Vegas. Dates all over the US have been nailed down through early July, including a two-nighter in San Diego May 2-3 and a spot at the Bonnaroo Festival in mid-June. Details are listed below.
Tool's North American trek, which was originally set to kick off in mid-March, had to be postponed after drummer Danny Carey tore a bicep. The accident--which the band, in a tongue-in-cheek posting at its website, blamed on a dog--happened just a week after Tool announced about 30 tour dates. Now, with almost 40 gigs on the books, the rockers are ready to roll once again.
The band, which has been in New Zealand, Australia and Japan this year, is touring the world to support its fourth studio release, "10,000 Days," which hit the top spot on The Billboard 200 album chart when it was released last year.
The set marked Tool's return from a three-year hiatus and earned the band a couple of Grammy nominations, including Best Hard Rock Performance for the song "Vicarious."
