Chris Isaak builds solo tour around dates with Stevie Nicks
Isaak will kick off his tour--which features a wide variety of venues, including several wineries, a zoo and a few casinos, as well as many traditional theater and nightclubs--May 11 in Henderson, NV. The solo part of his trek will hit more than 25 cities and runs until late August.
Also in May, the singer will launch a co-billed outing with Nicks, beginning May 17 in Concord, CA. That tour is currently scheduled to stop in 17 cities. His itinerary is included below.
"Best of Isaak," Isaak's most recent album, hit stores last May. The set comes in the form of an audio CD featuring 14 remastered hits, three new songs and an acoustic rendition of "Forever Blue"; and a DVD that houses 18 music videos and a commentary from Isaak.
The best-of collection follows 2004's "Chris Isaak Christmas," which features 11 traditional songs (including "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," with Stevie Nicks) and five originals, including "Gotta Be Good," "Christmas on TV," "Washington Square" and "Hey Santa!" The singer, who spent a few years focusing on his acting career, hasn't issued a new, non-seasonal studio album since 2002's "Always Got Tonight."
From 2001 through 2004, Isaak starred in nearly 50 original episodes of his Showtime series, "The Chris Isaak Show," which the cable network billed as "part comedy and part reality." The cast included Isaak's real-life band members--Kenney Dale Johnson (drums), Hershel Yatovitz (guitar) and Rowland Salley (bass)--with an ensemble of fictional characters.
Nicks' most recent solo album is 2001's "Trouble in Shangri-La" and her latest with Fleetwood Mac is 2003's "Say You Will."
