Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson expand tour
Country music superstars Brooks & Dunn and Alan Jackson have added a string of Canadian dates to the end of their co-headlining tour of North America.
The outing, which makes its way across the US beginning May 10 in Virginia Beach, VA, now wraps in mid-November with a five-show run in the Great White North. Dates are listed below. Newcomers Jake Owen and Catherine Britt will open the shows.
Brooks & Dunn are also set to perform May 6 at the inaugural Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA, and will play a six-show run of NFL stadiums on Kenny Chesney's Flip Flop Summer Tour. Details are available at Brooks & Dunn's website.
Jackson has his own slot at the Stagecoach fest and a few dates aside from the co-headlining stint, as well. His full schedule is listed at his website.
Brooks & Dunn, which is the most-awarded act in Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music history, is currently up for seven more trophies at the ACM Awards, including Entertainer of the Year, Top Vocal Duo and Album of the Year for "Hillbilly Deluxe." At the May 15 ceremony, the duo will also receive the Academy's Humanitarian Award to recognize their work with a host of charities.
Jackson, a three-time CMA Entertainer of the Year winner, topped the album charts twice last year with the platinum-selling gospel collection "Precious Memories" and "Like Red on a Rose," which spawned current hit single "A Woman's Love." Both sets were nominated for Grammy Awards.
Between the two acts, Jackson and Brooks & Dunn have scored more than 50 No. 1 singles and sold nearly 80 million albums, according to a press release.
