Feist places 'Reminder' on tour
Canadian singer-songwriter Feist and her musical group of the same name will launch a US and Canadian tour in May, backing the singer's forthcoming new album, "The Reminder."
TThe singer--who was born Leslie Feist but goes by her surname--will kick off her tour May 15 in Victoria, British Columbia. The first part of the 26-city road trip, which runs through June, will pass through major metropolitan areas in Canada, with the second half dedicated to US cities. Full details are included below.
Experimental Boston indie rockers Grizzly Bear, whose most recent release is last year's "Yellow House," will provide opening support on the US dates.
Due in stores May 1, 'The Reminder" was pieced together while Feist was on her 33-month tour behind her previous album, 2004's "Let It Die," according to her online biography.
Feist's longtime musical collaborator, Chilly Gonzales, helped the singer work out her new material before she called her regular touring band--Julian Brown, Bryden Baird and Jesse Baird--into the studio (a 200-year-old manor on the outskirts of Paris) to begin laying down tracks for what would become "The Reminder."
