Snow Patrol plows through North America once more
Snow Patrol has put together a second run of North American dates this year to support its latest release, "Eyes Open."
The Scotland-based alt-rock band, which completed a six-week tour of the US and Canada earlier this month, will be back for 12 more shows beginning July 17 in Santa Barbara, CA. Dates include a double shot July 22-23 at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre and a slot at the Aug. 3-5 Lollapalooza festival at Chicago's Grant Park (the exact date for which has yet to be announced). Details are listed below.
The majority of shows go on sale this Saturday (4/28).
Prior to the North American jaunt, Snow Patrol will headline a host of European festivals beginning in mid-May, and will play the London segment of the July 7 Live Earth concert, a 24-hour music event spread across seven continents that aims to bring attention to the climate crisis. Overseas gigs are listed at the band's website.
"Eyes Open," which hit stores last May, followed 2004's 2-million-selling "Final Straw." The latest album's big hit single, "Chasing Cars," was up for a Grammy this year in the Best Rock Song category.
Snow Patrol has a new song, "Signal Fire," coming out on the May 1 "Spider-Man 3" soundtrack. Sample cuts of that tune and a couple of others are streaming at the band's MySpace page.
