Steve Miller Band tacks on new dates
Veteran rockers The Steve Miller Band have added a horde of new dates to their upcoming schedule, which includes a pair of co-headlining shows with The Doobie Brothers .
Miller and his band kicked off their touring season in March, with the band next scheduled to play May 16 in New York as part of the 2nd Annual Matt's Promise Benefit, which aids young victims of cancer and other terminal illnesses. More information about the show is posted at the event's website.
With the addition of the new dates, the group is set to keep playing through the summer and fall. Full details are included below.
The Steve Miller Band's most recent release is 2003's "Young Hearts--Complete Greatest Hits." The set, which traces the group's 35-year affiliation with Capitol Records, includes the No. 1 singles "The Joker," "Rockin' Me" and "Abracadabra," as well as hits such as "Take the Money and Run," "Space Cowboy," "Fly Like an Eagle," "Jungle Love," "Jet Airliner" and "Livin' in the USA."
Details about the set--including the complete, 22-song tracklist--are posted at Miller's website.
Last year saw the re-release of Miller's legendary 1976 album, "Fly Like an Eagle," in a special, dual-CD/DVD 30th-anniversary edition. The set contains the original album, remastered and presented in 5.1 surround sound, along with a bonus DVD that includes live performances and interviews.
Miller and company haven't released a collection of new material since 1993's "Wide River."
