Judge Refuses To Free Bobby Brown On Bail
update: R&B musician Bobby Brown , who has been jailed in Florida since he was arrested on an outstanding warrant on May 10, has been denied bond and probably will remain behind bars at least until a June 19 hearing, according to the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel. The judge reportedly said he considers Brown a flight risk because of his wealth.
At the next hearing, a judge will determine whether Brown violated his probation, a result of a 1996 drunk-driving accident. The terms of the probation included regular drug testing. Last year, the singer allegedly refused to re-take a urine test that turned up positive for cocaine use, which led to a judge issuing a warrant for his arrest.
Brown was arrested at Newark Airport in New Jersey on May 10 as he returned from a vacation in the Bahamas, and he was later transported to a Ft. Lauderdale jail cell.
