Alt-rockers Counting Crows [ tickets ], Live [ tickets ] and Collective Soul [ tickets ] are teaming for The Rock 'N Roll Triple Play Ballpark Tour this summer.

The outing, which will also feature Third Eye Blind on a few dates, kicks off July 22 in Wilmington, DE, and hits 23 ballyards across the US into September. The shows, most of which are in smaller markets, are listed below.

"... I grew up in a college town and I've always loved those kinds of places," Crows frontman Adam Duritz said in a statement. "That's why Counting Crows has always done so many tours outside the big cities. I'm definitely a city boy myself. Hell, I live in New York City. But this is a big country and, as much as I love a city, too many bands forget that there's a hell of a lot of America out there that's not New York or Chicago or LA. We haven't forgotten that and we're never going to forget it."

The band hasn't released a new studio set since 2002's "Hard Candy" but Duritz said earlier this week that he was in the studio mixing the first song for an upcoming record. The Crows' last hit song was 2004's "Accidentally In Love" from the "Shrek 2" soundtrack; it was nominated for a Grammy, a Golden Globe and an Academy Award. Last year, the group released the live album "New Amsterdam: Live at Heineken Music Hall 2003."

Live, one of the few bands whose original lineup is still intact after 20 years, has its own North American tour leading up to The Rock 'N Roll Triple Play. The group's headlining gigs are listed at its website. With worldwide sales of more than 20 million albums, Live has had numerous hit songs since the early '90s, including "Selling the Drama," "I Alone," "Lightning Crashes" and "Heaven." The band put out its seventh studio set, "Songs From Black Mountain," last summer.

Another band that made its breakthrough in the early '90s, Collective Soul has sold more than 10 million records and had 19 singles reach the Billboard charts, including "Shine," "The World I Know," "Where the River Flows" and "Better Now." The group, which put out the CD/DVD set "Home: A Live Concert Recording with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra" last year, also has it own slate of North American tour dates, which can be found at its website.
