Liza Minnelli steppin' out
Liza Minnelli is taking her live show around the world this year, and her plans include a handful of US dates over the next several months.
The award-winning singer/actress has a June 21 engagement in Brazil and will be back in the states next month for two shows in Massachusetts. She'll head to Europe in August and then start a string of dates all over the US in September and October. Minnelli will also be on hand to headline the McCallum Theatre's 20th Anniversary Gala Nov. 29 in Palm Desert, CA. US dates are listed below, while overseas shows can be found at the performer's website.
With more than 40 years on concert and Broadway stages and roles in film and television, Minnelli's trophy case is one of a few to display Grammy, Tony, Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy awards.
In 2002, Minnelli released "Liza's Back," which she recorded during a week of shows at New York City's Beacon Theatre. The run marked her return to the stage following a life-threatening bout with viral encephalitis. Currently, she is said to be working on a tribute album to her godmother, singer/actress/author Kay Thompson.
On the acting front, Minnelli appeared in the film "The OH in Ohio" last year and can be seen in reruns of the television comedy "Arrested Development."
