Tegan and Sara head out with 'The Con'
Indie-pop rockers Tegan and Sara have a new album due next month and they'll support it with a slew of North American dates, many of which are already sold out.
The Canadian twin-sister act will kick things off in mid-July with an itinerary that includes two-night-stands in Victoria, British Columbia; Vancouver; Seattle; San Francisco; and Los Angeles. Nearly all the dates on the first leg, which wraps Aug. 7 in Chicago, are sold out, according to Tegan and Sara's website.
The duo will head to Europe in mid-August for a two-week run of shows and then return to Canada in September for another leg that stretches through mid-October. North American shows are listed below; overseas dates can be found at Tegan and Sara 's website.
The twins' fifth studio album, "The Con," is scheduled to hit stores July 24. The set was co-produced by the sisters and Chris Walla, and features special guests including Jason McGerr of Death Cab for Cutie, Matt Sharp of The Rentals and Hunter Burgan of AFI, according to the band's bio. A couple of songs from the record are steaming at Tegan and Sara's MySpace page.
"The Con" will also be available in a deluxe-edition version that includes a humorous, 14-chapter movie.
The new album follows 2004's "So Jealous," which landed on Rolling Stone's Top 50 Records of the Year list.
