Weezer gearing up for new album
Alt-rock heavyweights Weezer , who've been on hiatus while frontman Rivers Cuomo got a degree from Harvard, plan to dish out a new album next year.
"Weezer is just polishing up a batch of songs for a recording session that is going to start at the beginning of July," Cuomo wrote in a message posted this week at the group's website. "This will be the final recording session for our 6th album which we aim to put out in the first half of 2008. We hope you are all having good times."
Cuomo's note comes shortly after the launch of the website AlbumSix.com, which currently redirects visitors to Weezer 's website.
The forthcoming album follows 2005's "Make Believe," which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart and spawned the No. 1 hits "Beverly Hills" and "Perfect Situation."
