Built to Spill expands trek
Alt-rockers Built to Spill have mapped out a new tour leg to follow their current summer outing as they continue to back last year's "You in Reverse."
The Boise, ID, natives will continue their current trek Friday night (6/29) in Edmonton, Alberta, the next of a slate of shows that runs through late July. After taking a breather in August, the group returns with its fall lineup, kicking off Sept. 10 in Las Vegas and running into October.
As the group recently promised fans in a message on its website, the new shows include several shared dates with alt-rock icons Camper Van Beethoven . The CVB dates begin with the Built to Spill's Las Vegas show and run through five cities, including the tour-closing three-night run in Seattle beginning Oct. 4. The full itinerary is included below
Built to Spill released the self-produced "You in Reverse"--which took five years to complete--in April of 2006. The gap between the new disc and 2001's "Ancient Melodies of the Future" included an 18-month vacation from any kind of music-related work, according to a press release.
Later this month, Warner Bros. will release limited-edition vinyl reissues of three Built to Spill albums: 1997's "Perfect from Now On," 1999's "Keep It Like a Secret," and "You in Reverse." Only 2,000 copies of each LP are being pressed.
"Keep It Like a Secret" will include the bonus track "Forget Remember When," a b-side from the album's recording sessions, while "Perfect from Now On" will include the bonus track "Easy Way," a previously unreleased song from that album's recording sessions.
