Kittie plots one last round of 'Revenge'
Heavy metal act Kittie has announced dates for the final installment of the band's yearlong Sweet Revenge Tour, with the all-female group continuing to support its February studio release.
The Canadian rockers will finish up a July slate composed primarily of radio station-sponsored gigs before heading out on their last run of shows, whcih back "Funeral for Yesterday," the group's fourth album. The headlining run kicks off Aug. 5 in Orono, ME, and will take the band through 30 cities before winding down in mid-September.
Opening support on the trek will come from It Dies Today, Silent Civilian, Bring Me the Horizon and Blessed by a Broken Heart. The full itinerary is included below.
Kittie, which debuted with 2000's "Spit," is composed of lead singer/guitarist Morgan Lander, and her sister and group co-founder, Mercedes Lander (drums), as well as guitarist Tara McLeod and bassist Trish Doan, both of whom made their recorded debut with the group on the band's 2006 digital EP, "Never Again."
"Funeral for Yesterday"--the debut release on Kittie's newly founded label, Kiss of Infamy--was produced by Jack Ponti (Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper). The set includes a companion DVD featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the recording process. A video preview of the DVD is streaming at Kittie's website.
