Steps Line Up Year-End Shows

LONDON--British pop act Steps announced a seven-date U.K. winter tour on Saturday (5/27). The fivesome, which is reminiscent of Swedish mega-group ABBA, will play at U.K. arenas in November and December.

The group will play six dates in England--Birmingham (11/19), Sheffield (11/21), Newcastle (11/24), London (11/28), Nottingham (12/7) and Manchester (12/19)--as well as a show in Glasgow, Scotland (12/11).

Steps was formed in 1997 after Lisa Scott-Lee, Ian "H" Watkins, Claire Richards, Lee Latchford-Evans and Faye Tozer answered an ad in the Stage, a U.K. arts paper, and were chosen from thousands of applicants. They scored their first British No. 1 single in 1999 with "Heartbeat/Tragedy."
