Lonestar builds new 'Mountains' of shows
Country outfit Lonestar has announced new dates for its ongoing summer/fall tour, which could be the last time the band hits the road with singer Richie McDonald.
The group, which is touring behind its most recent studio album, last October's "Mountains," is due to play tonight (7/6) in Billings, MT. The new shows, about 15 in all, fill gaps in a schedule that stretches through mid-October. The itinerary is included below.
As previously reported, McDonald will leave the group at the end of the year to pursue a solo career.
The group's remaining members--Dean Sams, Michael Britt and Keech Rainwater--plan to find a new vocalist and carry on together, according to a press release.
"Life is about change," Sams said in a press statement released in March. "Lonestar has evolved over the 14 years we have been together. Michael, Keech and myself are excited about the challenges that lie ahead."
The group worked with producer Mark Bright on "Mountains," the band's ninth studio release. It was the first time Lonestar had worked with the producer.
"Working with Mark Bright was a turning point for us, because he pushed us to record passionate songs that we all believed in," McDonald said in a press release.
