Lyle Lovett sets up his own shows following K.D. Lang run
Following the late-July finale of his current outing with K.D. Lang, Lyle Lovett will jump right back into headlining his own shows with his Large Band in tow.
The Lovett/Lang pairing--which continues tomorrow night (7/10) in Fayetteville, AR--runs through a July 30 show in Saratoga, CA. Lovett will launch his short outing the following night in Redding, CA, with an additional trio of shows planned for Montana and Idaho in early August.
The Texas native will also return to his home state for several shows in October, including an Oct. 13 slot at the Big State Music Festival in College Station, TX, which is home to Lovett's alma mater, Texas A&M University. The full itinerary is listed below.
Lovett, who takes his time between albums, offered up "My Baby Don't Tolerate" in September of 2003. The disc, which is his inaugural--and, thus far, only--set for Lost Highway Records, marks his first collection of original solo material since 1996's "The Road to Ensenada."
The singer recently announced that he--along with Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colvin, John Hiatt, Patty Griffin and Buddy Miller--would headline "Cayamo: A Journey Through Song," a six-day Carribean cruise scheduled to launch from Miami next February. Tickets went on sale to the public last month; more information can be found at the event's website.
