Lucinda Williams goes out 'West' again
Singer/songwriter Lucinda Williams has roped up a slate of new dates for summer and fall as she continues to back her latest studio album, "West."
The Grammy-winning country/folk performer, who originally hails from Louisiana, is in the midst of a long outing to support the album, with a recently completed slate of June and July appearances behind her, and tonight's (7/19) show in Rochester, NY, next on the schedule.
The outing runs into September; veteran country guitarist/vocalist Charlie Louvin supports through the end of July. Details are included below.
"West," Williams' eighth studio album, was co-produced by Williams and Hal Wilner (Elvis Costello, Lou Reed), and recorded in Los Angeles. Guest musicians featured on the set include Bill Frisell, Jim Keltner and Williams' longtime guitarist Doug Petibone.
Streaming previews of four of the new album's songs are available at Williams' website.
Williams was recently nominated for three Americana Music Association awards. The singer received nods for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Are You Alright?"
