Mandy Moore, Paula Cole team up for tour
With both singers supporting new albums that appeared after long recording layoffs, Mandy Moore and Paula Cole will join forces this fall for a co-headlining tour.
So far only the first seven dates of the outing have been confirmed, with the trek kicking off Aug. 18 in Portland, OR. The stretch travels down the West Coast, ending Aug. 25 in San Diego. Current dates are shown below, and more shows will be announced soon, according to the tour's promoters.
Singer/actress Moore will also play some of her own headlining shows following the dates with Cole, kicking off Aug. 30 in Fort Worth, TX. Her full schedule is also included below.
Moore, who has spent more time in recent years on her burgeoning acting career than on recording and singing, wrote her own lyrics for the first time on her new album, "Wild Hope," the singer's first studio effort since 2003's "Coverage."
"It was a natural progression to write," Moore told LiveDaily in a recent interview. "It was something I'm very passionate about and I wanted to be a part of the process. It didn't feel like I was pushing myself in the wrong direction or really pushing myself at all. I enjoyed the process."
Cole, who debuted in 1994 with "Harbinger," and rose to prominence with the hit "I Don't Want to Wait" in 1996, a song that was helped by its appearance on the television drama "Dawson's Creek" in the late '90s. She released a new studio album titled "Courage" in June, which is the singer's first full-length release since 1999's "Amen."
The new album features guest appearances by Herbie Hancock, Chris Botti and David Foster, among others.
