Feist pieces together late summer tour
Canadian singer/songwriter Leslie Feist will fit in a brief schedule of North American shows this fall before heading overseas for an extensive tour of several European nations.
Feist--who prefers to go simply by her surname--will launch her American outing Aug. 29 in New York, with nine shows scheduled before she heads for the Old World, including the singer's Sept. 8 appearance at Montreal's Osheaga music fest.
Pre-sales for the upcoming shows are available for members of the singer's online fan community. Tickets will go onsale to the general public beginning July 27.
The singer's complete European tour plans can be found at her official website.
Feist is backing a new album, "The Reminder." Released May 1, the album was pieced together while the singer was on a 33-month tour behind her previous album, 2004's "Let It Die," according to her online biography.
Feist's longtime musical collaborator, Chilly Gonzales, helped the singer work out her new material before she called her regular touring band--Julian Brown, Bryden Baird and Jesse Baird--into the studio (a 200-year-old manor on the outskirts of Paris) to begin laying down tracks for what would become "The Reminder."
