Dr. Dre, Eminem-Led "Up In Smoke" Tour Extended
update: The run of the Dr. Dre -led “Up in Smoke” tour has been extended two weeks, and several additional dates have been added to fill previous gaps in the itinerary. The bill for the summer hip-hop package will also include Eminem , Snoop Dogg , Ice Cube and Warren G, as well as special guests.
Though Dr. Dre’s name tops the bill, his protégé Eminem is the hottest act of the moment. Eminem’s second album, “The Marshall Mathers LP,'' sold 1.7 million in its debut week, according to SoundScan, and will debut at No. 1 on Thursday's (6/1) Billboard 200. Dre was the album’s executive producer.
In March, Dre’s latest release, "Dr. Dre 2001," was certified four times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, surpassing his triple-platinum 1992 release “The Chronic.”
