Live, Collective Soul stick together
Alt-rockers Live and Collective Soul have added a handful of shows to follow their Rock 'n' Roll Triple Play ballpark tour with Counting Crows .
The Triple Play tour, which launched earlier this week, takes the three bands through smaller markets across the eastern half of the US. It continues tonight (7/27) in Dayton, OH, and wraps Sept. 2 in Fargo, ND.
Following a short break, Live and Collective Soul will pick up again Sept. 21 in Boston and stick close to the East Coast through early October. Their gigs in Hershey, PA, and Camden, NJ, will also feature Breaking Benjamin , Three Days Grace and Seether . Dates are listed below.
Live is touring behind last year's "Songs from Black Mountain," its seventh studio album and first since 2003's "Birds of Pray." The set is the band's first for Epic Records, with whom the band signed after parting with its longtime label, Geffen.
Live, one of the few bands whose original lineup is still intact after 20 years, has sold more than 20 million albums on the strength of hits including "Selling the Drama," "I Alone" and "Lightning Crashes.
Collective Soul plans to release its seventh studio album, "Afterwords," next month on its own El Music Group label. The band recently struck a deal with Target, making the store the exclusive physical retailer for the set (which will also be available online), according to Billboard. The lead single from the record, "Hollywood," is streaming at Collective Soul's MySpace page.
