Eisley unlocks 'Combinations' tour
Indie-pop family act Eisley continues to lay down roadwork in advance of its sophomore studio album, "Combinations," which is due in stores in August.
The DuPree siblings (plus one cousin) are currently in the midst of a summer headlining tour, one that takes them Saturday (7/28) to San Diego, the first of 14 dates remaining on the band's calendar.
The group's latest album is due in stores Aug. 14, following up the outfit's 2005 debut effort, "Room Noises."
For "Combinations," the Eisley worked with producer/composer Richard Gibb, notable for his collaborations with Korn and also for scoring the recent "Battlestar Galactica" television series.
"We wanted to work with someone who had a fresh perspective on how to record our band," Sherri DuPree said in a press statement. "We thought that someone who understood the film world would be able to bring a stronger symphonic feel to our songs."
The Tyler, TX, quintet was formed in 1997 when the DuPree siblings--guitarist Chauntelle, singer/guitarist Sherri, singer/keyboardist Stacy and drummer Weston--hooked up with family friend Jon Wilson (bass) and began playing gigs in their hometown, Partridge Family-style (Stacy DuPree was just eight years old when the band began performing live).
The band recently became a full-fledged family act when cousin Garron DuPree replaced Wilson on bass.
