!!! hammers out fall headlining tour
Uniquely named electronic indie-rockers !!! will block several weeks off the calendar this fall for a headlining tour behind the band's latest studio album, "Myth Takes."
The eight-member California-bred group (whose name is pronounced by "repeating any three repetitive, monosyllabic sounds," according to the band's record label, but has generally become known as "Chk Chk Chk") kicks off a 16-city swing Sept. 26 in Los Angeles. Dates for the trek, which runs through mid-October, are shown below.
The band is currently in Europe on the first leg of an international tour that covers most of August then resumes in October following the North American segment. All of the band's European dates can be found at its MySpace page.
Released in March, "Myth Takes" is the group's third full-length album, and follows 2004's "Louden Up Now."
The group formed in the mid-'90s in Sacramento, CA, combining members of two of the town's hardcore punk bands, Popesmashers and Black Liquorice, into a new project that reflected the new band's desire to "play music in the vein of the stuff they were dancing to," according to the group's online bio. The act--members of which are now based in Sacramento, New York City, and Portland, OR--released its self-titled debut album in 2001.
