Arcade Fire's fall tour continues to grow
Indie rockers Arcade Fire add a few more dates to the cauldron as the band continues to flesh out its fall US tour supporting its latest studio effort, "Neon Bible."
The new shows include a pair of West Coast gigs--Sept. 21 in Mountain View, CA, and Sept. 24 in Seattle--as well as a Kansas City show as the group readies to kick off the outing in Texas with its Sept. 15 slot at the Austin City Limits Festival. All US dates are included below. Electronic act LCD Soundsystem will open.
Arcade Fire has also added several shows to the European trek that follows the US run. The band's complete overseas schedule is posted at its website.
Montreal-based Arcade Fire is touring behind its second studio album, "Neon Bible," which surfaced in March and peaked at No. 2 on The Billboard 200. The band recorded the self-produced set in a small church outside of its hometown.
"After trying to decide if we should work with any producers, we kind of realized that we already know how we want things to sound so we should just run after that sound as fast as [we] can and not rely on someone else to guide the good ship Arcade Fire," frontman Win Butler said in a posting at the band's website.
"Neon Bible" is the follow-up to Arcade Fire's critically acclaimed 2004 debut, "Funeral," which earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Rock Album.
