Josh Groban , who last month postponed until September his planned tour stop in Charlotte, NC, has announced plans to make a "generous" donation to local music education for the students of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School.

"Music education played such an integral part in my growth musically and in so many ways that this seemed like the ideal way to thank the city and my fans for their patience and the inconvenience they experienced regarding my rescheduled date," Groban said in a prepared statement. "I'm really looking forward to returning to Charlotte and putting on an extra special show."
