Trans-Siberian Orchestra sets holiday trek

Trans-Siberian Orchestra [ tickets ] has mapped out this year's dates for its annual holiday-season tour, which is said to be its largest outing ever.

The 60-member-plus rock outfit will once again break into two touring units and visit North American arenas in more than 90 cities through early January. The trek is set to kick off Nov. 1 with four shows in Youngstown, OH. Afternoon and evening performances are booked at about 35 venues along the way. The itinerary is listed below.

Fan club tickets will go on sale beginning Sept. 6, according to the band's website. Further details are available there.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra [ tickets ]'s 2006 winter tour was its most successful to date, with 80 shows performed in front of more than 1 million fans, according to a press release.

The band, established in 1996 by rock producer/composer/lyricist Paul O'Neill, has released four CDs--three holiday sets and and 2000's "Beethoven's Last Night"--plus the 2001 DVD "The Ghosts of Christmas Eve." TSO's most recent studio album, "The Lost Christmas Eve," surfaced in 2004 and was followed later that year by the "The Christmas Trilogy" box set.

Trans-Siberia Orchestra said in a website posting that it is half finished with its next offering, which will be titled "Nightcastle."
