Bruce Springsteen, E Street Band make 'Magic'
Bruce Springsteen has reunited with the E Street Band for a new album, and a tour announcement is expected soon.
"Magic," due Oct. 2, will be The Boss' first new studio recording with the E Street Band since 2002's Grammy-winning, multiplatinum album "The Rising." The forthcoming set--which, like "The Rising," was produced by Brendan O'Brien--comprises 11 new Springsteen songs, which are listed below.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's longtime manager, Jon Landau, described the record in a statement as "a high energy rock CD," adding, "It's light on its feet, incredibly well played by Bruce and the members of the E Street Band, and, as always, has plenty to say."
Springsteen's longtime bandmates from his New Jersey stomping grounds include guitarists Steven Van Zandt and Nils Lofgren, saxophonist Clarence Clemons, drummer Max Weinberg, keyboardists Danny Federici and Roy Bittan, bassist Garry Tallent, violinist Soozie Tyrell and Springsteen's wife/singer Patti Scialfa.
Last year, The Boss and his folkie Sessions Band released "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions"--a set of traditional songs associated with folk artist Pete Seeger. A DVD and two-disc live collection with the Sessions Band, "Live in Dublin," surfaced earlier this summer.
"Magic" track listing:
1. Radio Nowhere
2. You'll Be Comin' Down
3. Livin' in the Future
4. Your Own Worst Enemy
5. Gypsy Biker
6. Girls in Their Summer Clothes
7. I'll Work for Your Love
8. Magic
9. Last to Die
10. Long Walk Home
11. Devil's Arcade
