Genesis ready to rock America

Now that its European outing has wrapped, Genesis is gearing up for the North American leg of its "Turn It On Again" tour.

The veteran prog-rockers, who haven't toured North America in 15 years, will launch the trek Sept. 7 at Toronto's BMO Field, where they'll go down in history as the first band to play the new stadium.

"We had a lot of fun in Europe and are excited to bring our show to all of our fans in North America," the band said in a joint statement. "It's great to be able to still feel that electricity on stage together because we're all still doing it for the love of it."

Genesis played to nearly 1.5 million fans in Europe and sold out some of the world's largest venues, according to a press release. Following rehearsals in Toronto, the band is scheduled to visit 20 cites in the US and Canada, with multiple nights booked in Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles. Details are listed below.

Genesis will bring along its massive production, which includes the largest screen ever used at a stadium concert, according to a press release. The backdrop, which resembles a giant conch shell, uses 9 million LEDs.

On the road, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks are joined by longtime Genesis sidemen Chester Thompson on drums and Daryl Stuermer on guitar.

In conjunction with the tour, Genesis is reissuing all 14 of its studio albums. The band's four most successfully commercial records--1983's "Genesis," 1986's "Invisible Touch," 1991's "We Can't Dance" and 1997's "Calling All Stations"--will be released as a box set Oct. 1.
