More shows for Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello
Bob Dylan has tacked several more dates onto his upcoming tour, which has fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Elvis Costello filling the support slot.
The arena trek, which will also feature singer/songwriter Amos Lee, now spans 22 dates primarily in the Eastern US. It is currently scheduled to kick off Sept. 22 in Duluth, GA, and wrap Oct. 26 in Omaha, NE. Ticket presales for the newly announced dates begin Sept. 4. Information is available at Dylan's website.
Before the official tour launch, Dylan will make a Sept. 16 appearance at the Austin City Limits Festival and play a two-night stand Sept. 19-20 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. His full itinerary is listed below.
Dylan is out supporting his forthcoming career retrospective, "Dylan," which is due Oct. 1. The collection will come in two versions: a three-disc, 51-track deluxe edition and the smaller 18-song, single-disc set.
Last year, the folk legend released "Modern Times," his first new studio set since 2001's "Love and Theft." The album shot to No. 1 on The Billboard 200.
The fall outing marks Costello's first solo performances in 12 years, according to his publicist. His most recent release, last year's "The River in Reverse," is a collaboration with New Orleans musician Allen Toussaint in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The Grammy-nominated album was followed by the DVD "Hot as a Pistol, Keen as a Blade," which captures a live show from the duo's 2006 tour.
