Blink-182 Drummer To Sit Out Rest Of Tour

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker broke one of his fingers during a fight in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on Sunday (6/4) and will not be able to perform during the rest of the band's summer tour. Fenix TX guitarist Damon Delapaz, whose band is opening for Blink-182, will fill in for Barker.

According to a spokesperson for Blink-182, Barker and his girlfriend were at a restaurant prior to the Sunday show when two men verbally harassed Barker's girlfriend. When Barker and his girlfriend left the building a short time later, one of the two men allegedly assaulted Barker. The drummer broke one of his pinky fingers during the fight that followed and had to be treated at a nearby hospital. Doctors placed his hand in a cast that he is expected to wear for at least four weeks.

Delapaz, meanwhile, filled in for Barker Sunday night. Although he plays guitar for Fenix TX, he won a "Best Drummer in Texas" award several years ago. In addition to filling in on drums for Barker for the next four weeks, he will continue to play guitar during Fenix TX's opening set.

The tour, featuring Blink-182, Bad Religion and Fenix TX, is scheduled to run until July 8. Blink-182 plans to release a live album on November 28.
