Avenged Sevenfold revs engines for new album, tour
Tattooed rockers Avenged Sevenfold have a new album in the pipeline and plan to usher in the set with a fall tour.
The Southern California-based act will get things started with an Oct. 29 performance in Los Angeles, the night before its sophomore major-label set lands in stores. The forthcoming album--a self-titled affair that follows the group's 2005 debut, "City of Evil"--features the cut "Critical Acclaim," which is currently streaming at the band's MySpace page.
Following its release-eve show in L.A., A7X will tackle an itinerary that works its way east before winding up in Florida at the end of November. More roadwork is brewing, according to a tour announcement posted on the group's MySpace blog.
In addition to following 2005's "City of Evil," the soon-to-be-released "Avenged Sevenfold" comes in the wake of "All Excess," a DVD that hit stores in July.
"This DVD has been eight years in the making," Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows said in a press release. "We didn't want to cheat the fans by putting out a standard live DVD. Instead we wanted to focus on giving back to our fans by showing them what makes five best friends from Huntington Beach eat, sleep and breathe the Avenged Sevenfold lifestyle.
"'All Excess' shows everything from life backstage, on the bus, and some of the first shows in our hometown. We didn't leave anything off that fans have been asking about for years."
